Emma loved spaghetti, but sometimes when she had too much, her tummy hurt. One day, her dad showed her a fun trick. “Emma, try using a smaller plate. When you put food on it, it looks like more even though it’s still a healthy amount!” Emma was curious. She tried it at dinner, putting her spaghetti on a little plate instead of a big one. She was surprised to find that she felt just as full as when she had a big plate, but without the uncomfortable feeling. “The smaller plate helps you eat just the right amount,” her dad said. “It tricks your brain into thinking you have more!” Emma smiled because she felt happy eating her favorite meal without overdoing it. The next day, she used the smaller plate again and felt even better. Emma learned that using smaller plates and bowls helped her control her portions without feeling restricted. She could enjoy her food, feel full, and still be comfortable. She was proud of how she could make smart choices and still have the foods she loved!
