Targeting Lagging Muscles with High-Volume Microcycles

Liam loved lifting weights, but he noticed something: his arms weren’t growing like the rest of his body. They were the smallest part of him, and it made him feel frustrated. One day, his coach noticed his struggle and said, “Liam, maybe we need to focus more on your arms. Let’s try high-volume microcycles.” Liam didn’t know what that meant, so the coach explained, “It’s like giving extra attention to your arms for a few weeks. You’ll do more sets and reps, targeting your arms more often to help them catch up.” Excited to try something new, Liam followed the plan. Over the next few weeks, he did more arm exercises with higher volume—more sets, more reps, and more rest in between. At first, his arms felt sore, but as the weeks passed, he started noticing a difference. His arms slowly began to grow! Liam felt proud as his arms caught up with the rest of his body. He realized that sometimes, focusing more on one part of the body can help it grow faster. By dedicating more time to his arms, he found success, and his confidence grew along with his muscles.
