Jack thought he knew everything about core training. “Sit-ups are all I need,” he thought. But one day, his coach smiled and said, “Jack, your core needs more than just sit-ups.” Jack was surprised! His coach explained, “Your core isn’t just your abs—it’s everything from your back to your hips.” The coach showed Jack how to do planks to strengthen his entire core and how to twist with medicine balls to engage his obliques. “Think of your core like a tree,” the coach said. “If the trunk is strong, the branches can grow better.” Jack realized he had been missing out on training his whole core. As he added planks, side planks, and even leg raises, he felt his core becoming stronger and more stable. Jack could tell the difference during his workouts—his balance improved, and his lifts became easier. He felt proud of how his core was developing and realized that building a strong, balanced core was much more than just doing sit-ups. It was about training every part, and Jack loved the new challenge.
